Born in 1980 in Washington DC, she works in Brooklyn, New York.
A graduate of Yale University and with a Master's of Fine Arts in Advanced Photographic Studies from Bard College NY, Hannah Whitaker develops her aesthetic with objects and humans through a straight photography approach and solid knowledge of light and image construction.

She has been shown in multiple exhibitions in the US and France, and was nominated for the Prix Découvertes at les Rencontres d‘Arles 2012 and Foam Talent in 2014. She is represented by the Galerie Christophe Gaillard where she had a solo exhibition and presentation at Paris Photo in 2021.
She regularly does commissions with luxury brands and magazines like The New York Times, in addition to collaborations with companies and labels for special projects.
