Nick Meek, originally from the North of England, has carved a career that has seen him travel the world. Open, simple, and powerful compositions, a timeless quality that gives an atmospheric resonance, and a colour palette that is both playful and refined are central to Nick Meek&rsquo;s artistic practice.&nbsp; His photographic eye is drawn to landscapes and natural beauty all over the world, transforming it with a perpetually delighted gaze.
Nicks advertising campaigns for Absolute, Audi, American Airlines, Mercedes, Smirnoff, Sony, Stella Artois, VW &amp; Vespa have earned him awards from D&amp;AD, Cannes Lions, Communication Arts and The One Show.
 His first monograph Unreliable Memories was shown at Paris Photo and Unseen Amsterdam and selected as one of the best phonebooks of 22 at Photo Espania.

Nick Meek was very influenced by the North of England from where he hails: &ldquo;I was born in the North of England where it can be quite grey and the summers are quite short. I think this had a huge effect on me as a human being&hellip; It made me hungry for warmth and colour and, I suppose, adventure. It made me want to explore the world and that I think my photographs show&hellip; more than anything else a world that is full of light&rdquo;. Nick specifically chose the United States to fill up on pictures. The USA, known for its breath-taking scenery, the excessiveness of the settings you&rsquo;re always surrounded with. Meek sets in a feeling of contemplative distance but also the sensation of being thrown into the picture thanks to sculptural sets. Almighty nature and the four-wheeled beasts created by the automobile industry: territories and industries in perfect symbiosis. The power of deserted areas only amplified as potential development areas for US super cities. Emptiness and urban development, brought together by one visual transmission force

Sculptural landscapes / Sculpture in Landscape –  Part 1. Carrara mines

The sculpture resonates for Nick Meek like a Proust madeleine from family stories when his grandfather and his cousin, the artist Henry Moore used to hang around together, friends in life &hellip;
The transmissions are like that they catch up with us imperceptibly when we do not expect it. Photographer fascinated by the landscapes for a long time, several times distinguished for his American landscapes, from the AOP to the order of Le Monde magazine on the iconic landscapes of America, Meek initiates with his photographic maturity a vast project combining sculpture in the great natural spaces.
The first opus is a series in the mines of Carrara. With his photographic frame, Nick Meek identifies, bounds, reconstructs, offers a new visual sculpture in a sense of detail that reminds us that a great whole is indeed composed of multiple significant subsets, trying to capture the very forms that would have served as an inspiration to Henry Moore.

Gotica is a series of gritty portraits made in Barcelona&rsquo;s Gothic Quarter.
I spent two days with my camera, some simple lighting and an assistant patiently waiting for interesting people to pass by and asking if they would mind me making a portrait of them.
The gothic quarter is interesting to me as it attracts a certain type of free thinking person that somehow wears their per- sonality on the outside. Not afraid to be different and outward going, nearly everyone that I asked was interested in the project... proud and happy for me to photograph them and their look. Taking inspiration from the greats like Avedon and Watson I choose to photograph these people always on a white back- ground.
The intensity of the sun and the heat on their skin seems to add a visceral quality to the images and these exquisitely details prints should be shown at life size so our viewer is confronted face to face and drawn into their world.&nbsp;
