Whether with street photography, commercial portrait or fashion editorials, Brian Finke's look focuses on the authenticity and the absurdity of everyday life and the human behavior in all its aspects. Documentarian and photojournalist, Finke’s honesty and intimacy strike at the core of contemporary life, tied to a political and emotional undertones. He published several books, and his first monograph, 2, 4, 6, 8 was nominated as one of the best photography books by American Photo Magazine in 2003. Earlier in his career, he won a prestigious prize, the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. His work is in nine museum collections in the U.S. and abroad, and he regularly shoots for editorial clients like National Geographic, M Magazine, and The New York Times as well as commercial clients, including Delta Airlines, Uber Eats, and eBay. His last monograph Backyard Fights has been released by Hat & Beard Press, Spring 2022.
